Over 8000m2 of Amtico flooring has been chosen for exclusive student accommodation, including a stunning Designer’s Choice pattern. Located close to the heart of Sheffield’s urban centre, Crown House is a new, purpose-built development of 355 studio apartments for the student accommodation sector. The property boasts a number of first-class areas, which have all been designed to the highest standards to provide a standout university experience.
This level of detail was extended to the design and quality of flooring products utilised throughout the property. Amtico Signature was specified in all 8,000m2 of social and amenity spaces, including the entrance lobby, cinema, gym, café, games room and study areas, while the Amtico First collection was chosen for the 355 studios.
All areas were designed by principle interior designers, ‘74’, who chose Amtico from the inception of the project and used the flooring as a key element of the overall design. There are a number of impressive floorings, but a standout area is found in the social spaces. Here, ‘Affinity’ DC129 pattern from Designers’ Choice provides a blend of mottled greys and angular lines to provide a light and airy combination.
The flooring designs have been integral to this project from the start and we wanted a high quality, striking finish throughout the property. When it came to the social spaces, Designers’ Choice offered the feeling of a bespoke product, without the time constraints associated with creating our own design – a factor that is often difficult on
these types of fast paced developments. Combined with other areas utilising Amtico LVT flooring, we’re incredibly pleased with the overall result.
