Amtico has won the AJ Specification Award for Flooring for its work with architects Farrell & Clark at the Clothworkers' South Building at the University of Leeds. The winner’s trophy was presented at the inaugural awards ceremony, held at the Principal in Manchester.
The AJ Specification Awards recognise the key importance of collaboration between product and material suppliers/manufacturers and architects to the success of a building project – and celebrate innovative and creative use of products and materials in specific buildings that enhance or exceeds the brief. Regardless of size or scale of practice, all UK projects had to be completed between March 2017 and September 2018.

When architects Farrell & Clark were brought in and tasked with a refurbishment of the entrance and stairwell at the Clothworkers’ South Building, Amtico’s versatile Signature collection was chosen. The LVT flooring successfully revitalised circulation in the area and signalled to visitors that they were entering a vibrant space of creativity. This was reflected in the comments by the judging panel who stated:
This team has taken it way beyond what you might expect and delivered a creative and innovative solution on a budget which isn’t huge.
Commenting on the accolade, Louisa Eyles, Commercial Marketing Manager at Amtico, said:
We are delighted with winning this award. It reflects the quality of our Signature flooring, as well as recognising how we work closely with architects to achieve long-lasting, stunning designs.
As with all Amtico’s premium LVT collections, Signature is designed and manufactured to world-class standards in the UK, ensuring continuity and guaranteed technical excellence.
