The Bannerman Centre, which sits at the heart of the campus, hosts the university’s library, student centre and professional development offices as well as one of the campus’ cafés. The building’s lobby hadn’t been refurbished for some time, and was sporting tired sheet carpet that had been left over from the renovation of another building, so the university was keen to give the space a much-needed makeover.
Bold yet welcoming
Check, from the Amtico Carpet collection, was chosen for its durability, its subtle modern design and its complementary colourways. The finished result sees light grey Check Poplin framed by darker-toned Check Broadcloth to create a walkway between the main entrance and the library. Brightly coloured Check Pique yellow carpet can be seen in an alcove seating area, visually separating the zone from the main thoroughfare while adding some flair to the otherwise monotone scheme.
Check Pique and Check Poplin
Check Pique
Combining traditional houndstooth with a modern check design, the versatile Check carpet collection uses cool and warm neutrals with accent tones to create energy. The Check design is available in a total of seven different colourways.
Amtico Carpet offers an impactful flooring solution alongside excellent fade resistance, soil resistance and texture retention. These qualities are bolstered by a specialised bleach resistant technology that resists fade-out bleach spills and splashes. Amtico Carpet tiles are supplied with a 10-year warranty.
"Amtico worked with our architects, Kendall Kingscott, to deliver a warm and inviting space using a mixture of flooring colours. Since its refurbishment, the Bannerman Centre foyer has been very well received and described as a welcoming and vibrant destination.”
