Luxury vinyl tile, or LVT as it’s known, is a popular type of flooring that gives the appearance of real wood or stone, or introduces a striking abstract look. We manufacture our LVT by heat-compressing several high-quality materials together to create extremely durable, flexible and versatile flooring, perfect for stylish floor designs in all areas of the home.

Our experienced design and manufacturing teams, based at our specialist Coventry factory, use sophisticated printing techniques to craft authentic planks and tiles that replicate the true grains of wood and the natural detailing of stone. They so closely resemble natural materials that it can be difficult to notice the difference.
With LVT, you’ll enjoy a beautiful, highly durable floor that’s comfortable, quiet underfoot and compatible with underfloor heating. LVT is such a good choice throughout your home, particularly for kitchens and bathrooms because of its water resistance qualities.
The top wear layer of an LVT plank or tile has a patented urethane formula, known as Quantum Guard Elite. It protects against scratches, dents and stains, to give excellent impact resistance. Amtico products offer the most durable wear layer and are backed up by long-standing product warranties.
Installation is also a big benefit. Being lightweight, flexible and easy to cut makes it quicker to install LVT than to lay a real wood or stone floor. Once laid, there’s very little to do to keep it looking as good as new. Cleaning LVT is really straightforward too.
Opting for LVT in your home is a great way to achieve a natural floor design without some of the challenges of traditional hard floors and laminate.
As an alternative to wood, LVT has greater resistance to scratching. It won’t dent in the way a wood floor can or need polishing so often to retain its appearance. Wood can also shrink, expand or curl in moist environments whereas LVT will keep its shape and not mark if splashed by water.
Stone can be a very hard, cold material, it can easily chip or crack if something is dropped onto it. LVT is much more forgiving and doesn’t need sealing as many stones do. Choosing LVT also means no grouting. Grouting can become loose over time and is difficult to keep clean. Stone LVT is available in many natural-looking designs and a multitude of sizes. It’s easy to lay in creative patterns. You can add stripping to each tile to help define the pattern for a more authentic floor design.
Both laminate and LVT can achieve the effect of wood or stone, but LVT is more durable and far better suited to kitchens and bathrooms where it might come into contact with water. To lay an LVT floor, planks and tiles are permanently glued down in a laying pattern using adhesive that’s suitable for the environment its laid in. This differs from laying laminate, where a ‘loose-lay’ click system is often used.
For a perfect finish, LVT must be installed onto a surface that’s even, dry and clean. We always recommend that Amtico LVT is installed by a professional fitter who is Amtico endorsed or fully trained. They understand the intricacies of the material and how to achieve perfection.
