The Amtico Take Back Scheme supports retailers in responsibly recycling leftover and uplifted LVT, reducing waste that would otherwise have ended up going down traditional disposal routes, including landfill.

What Is the Amtico Take Back Scheme?

The Amtico Take Back Scheme is a retailer-led initiative designed to reduce the environmental impact of luxury vinyl tile waste. It allows registered flooring suppliers to return clean off-cuts and uplifted LVT — including end-of-life LVT products from other brands — for responsible reprocessing.

As a homeowner, you can support this effort by asking your installer if they’re a part of the scheme.

What Retailers Can Recycle Through the Scheme

If your flooring provider is part of the scheme, they can return:

Clean Off-Cuts from Installation: These can be reprocessed into brand new Amtico flooring products.
Contaminated Waste: This includes uplifted luxury vinyl tiles with glue or screed residues, which are sent to recycling partners and repurposed into useful items like traffic cones and speed bumps.

Please note that only LVT is eligible; carpet, wood, laminate, or any other floorcoverings, are not accepted under this programme.

How Does The Collection Work?

The Take Back Scheme is straightforward for participating businesses and easy for you to support. Once your retailer is registered, they’ll collect leftover installation materials and used LVT, separating clean and contaminated waste for recycling in sacks provided by Amtico.

Amtico’s nationwide collection service manages the transport of LVT waste back to our site where we process the returns, ensuring materials are either repurposed into new flooring or transformed into other useful products. If you’re unsure whether your flooring provider is involved, just ask; many are happy to take part when prompted.
