When you choose an Amtico floor, we want you to be sure it’s built on foundations that protect our planet and empower our people.
So here is our strategy, in brief, for tackling the major challenges.
Not in the next 20 years, but right now.
It’s about designing our future together
It comes from data, real targets and hard work
Our new sustainability strategy has been formed from an in-depth materiality survey encompassing focus groups, surveys and data from across our business and the wider flooring industry.
It focusses our sustainability efforts for the next five years on four core areas which we identified with the help of our customers and our people.
We are still committed to producing the same high-quality product and unrivalled design that our customers expect, but we are committed to doing so with a smaller environmental impact.
This year we will publish the KPIs we’ll be measuring over the next five years, and we commit to reporting against those annually. But we’ve always worked hard to take care of our people and minimise our impact on the environment.
Launch of our new UK sample recycling scheme which allows customers to return samples free of charge to be recycled back into our products.
First achieved ISO18001, and migrated to ISO45001 26/11/2000.
Our manufacturing engineers pioneered a new thermal imaging technique that has enabled us to reduce production waste by over 50%.
Achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘very good’ for our brand-new, purpose-built UK distribution centre.
Our environmental management system was first accredited to ISO 14001.
Launch of Responsible Foundations, our new sustainability strategy.
100% of our scope one and two UK operational carbon footprint from 2019 and 2020 is offset by investing in certified green projects through the UN Carbon Offset programme.
Amtico is committed to strong corporate governance and sound business practices.
