Abrasion Testing
Wear and tear on flooring in busy environments is unavoidable, from moving furniture to high footfall, several factors can cause flooring to fade over time.
Our Abrasion Test uses coarse abrasive wheels to simulate years of wear and tear in a matter of minutes. The test was performed using a Taber 5150 Abrader Machine and H-22 abrasive wheels.
We tested Amtico Form, Solid Wood, Engineered Wood and Ceramic Tiles on 100 cycles each to determine which material was the most durable against abrasive wear.

Water Test
Life happens, from easy to clean spillages to leaks and floods which can cause damage to flooring, sometimes resulting in expensive repairs and replacements.
We put Amtico Form to the test against Engineered Wood by submerging identical sized samples in the same amount of water for a 12-hour period and monitored them through a microscope.

Scratch Test
Scuffs and scratches on a floor are incredibly frustrating, especially when they are too deep and therefore irreparable.
Using a tool called a Sclerometer, which simulates real-life scratches, we tested Amtico Form against an engineered and a real wood sample.
