Project: Lee & Thompson, London

When legal firm Lee & Thompson chose to update and rebrand its office headquarters, the company consulted interior design experts Thirdway to transform the tired, dated space into a practical and inspiring commercial environment. The resulting contemporary workspace was given a high-end twist usually associated with a ‘members-only club’, with Amtico’s Signature LVT flooring providing the finishing touch.

Sector:
Office

Laying Pattern:
Key Stone Mini & French Weave

With Lee & Thompson looking to push the traditional boundaries in which they worked, Thirdway’s project team looked to translate this mindset into design. Amtico Signature LVT was chosen for the project, with two patterns from the Designers’ Choice collection offering a bold and eye-catching means of enhancing the office atmosphere as part of Lee & Thompson’s long-term vision.

Distinctive styles

71m2 of EP309 Key Stone Mini laying pattern was used in the kitchen and breakout area, while 271m2 of Brushed Oak was fitted in the reception and meeting room in a French Weave arrangement. The contrasting designs allowed for zones to be created within the office space, while maintaining the British-led style and sophisticated finishes integral to the overall design.

In terms of the breakout area, this space also needed to accommodate events, so catering provision, kitchens and a large island for bar service were factored in, as was a 10m long moveable glass wall. It was important for the materials specified to improve with age, without compromising the overall ‘members club’ feel; a role that the smooth and versatile contemporary stylings of the Basilica Salt, Kura Opium and Kura Caraway in Key Stone Mini were able to achieve with elegant ease.

"Lee & Thompson are no ordinary law firm. Their clients in media and sport are used to the delights of London’s members clubs and they wanted the office to emulate this. The geometric flooring was specified to add colour and eye-catching detail; reminiscent of tiled flooring the bold-pattern colours complemented the blue cabinetry. The individual hexagonal shapes also allowed us to create a bespoke design layout.”
